I’m not sure what the idea was behind altjband's dual video release for “Every Other Freckle” but it is interesting to see how people responded to the boy version vs the girl version. The discomfort with the use of the nude male form isn’t surprising, but makes me think about how differently we use and view male vs female bodies in popular culture.
It reminds me of the GQ parodies done by the Bondi Hipsters (bellow NSFW), and how normal and unshocking the female originals are compared to the male imitations. (To be more accurate, his whites aught to be transparent like hers, but the fact that he was reluctant to show as much as her is telling of the opposing cultural standards in its self).
